Learning and Performance is dedicated to optimising employee performance, promoting professional development, and advancing organisational effectiveness. The department is engaged in the creation and execution of learning initiatives, as well as strategic interventions aimed at enhancing the overall health and operational efficiency of the University.

Your New Role!  

The Senior Consultant – Learning and Performance (12-month parental leave cover) drives Murdoch University’s People and Culture priorities by leading the design, development, and delivery of strategic learning, capability, and performance initiatives.

Reporting to the Manager, Capability and Culture, this role provides senior expertise in learning design, leadership development, onboarding, and career framework to support the University’s strategic objectives.

The position also offers day-to-day leadership and mentoring to Learning and Performance Officers, ensuring smooth delivery of the Learning and Development catalogue and an exceptional learner experience across programs and platforms.
 

Your key responsibilities will include –

  • Onboarding Transformation: Redesign and implement an enhanced onboarding experience in Workday, integrate face-to-face sessions, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with values and workflows
  • Learning and Development Strategy: Oversee delivery of L&D programs, support the 5-Year Roadmap, prepare for LMS implementation, and modernise mandatory training for engagement and compliance.
  • Learning and Capability Development: Lead leadership programs, co-develop management resources, design new leadership journeys, and contribute to career development and organisational learning initiatives.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Education and training equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (or progress toward) in education, HR, organisational behaviour, psychology, or related field combined with relevant experience
  • Proven capability in digital transformation implementation and the design and implementation of programs and toolkits
  • Strong skills in influencing, collaboration, and relationship management across diverse stakeholders in a complex environment
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and manage competing priorities while fostering team effectiveness and critical behaviours.
