✨ Let’s give businesses more time for what matters.
Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company
Join BILL as a Senior Lead Product Manager (Bill Pay Optimization & Payments Experience) and own the end-to-end experience of how customers choose, execute, and manage payments within Accounts Payable. In this role, you will transform bill pay from “processing a payment” into optimizing every decision—method, timing, and funding source—so businesses can protect cash, reduce cost, and move money with confidence. You’ll shape how customers understand tradeoffs like speed vs. cost vs. rewards, set clear expectations on timing and fees, and deliver post‑payment transparency and controls that build trust.
You’ll sit at the intersection of AP, Payments, and Integrated Experiences, partnering closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Risk, Finance, and Product Marketing. This is a high-impact role for a product leader who can turn an ambitious vision into measurable outcomes: modern, consistent, agentic‑ready experiences that help every customer “pay every bill the smartest way—right rail, right time, right account.”
Responsibilities:
Own the core payment decision experience in AP—how payment methods are presented, how tradeoffs are explained, and how customers understand timing, fees, and who pays what.
Define and drive a multi‑year product vision to optimize payment method, timing, and funding decisions, tying product outcomes to customer economics and business results.
Build clear frameworks and principles for when to recommend speed vs. cost vs. rewards vs. vendor preference, balancing customer value with BILL’s economics.
Partner with Data Science and Analytics to design recommendation experiences that suggest the best method, timing, and funding source per bill or batch—with clear explanations, guardrails, and progression from “show me” to “do it for me.”
Translate complex payments, risk, and cash‑flow concepts into crisp product requirements and user flows; lead execution from discovery through GA in ambiguous problem spaces.
Collaborate with Payments and AP product teams to surface new rails and products (e.g., ACH, checks, wires, cards, virtual cards, instant, international, wallets/BILL Cash) in ways that are customer‑centric and revenue‑accretive.
Work closely with Risk, Finance, and Operations to ensure experiences respect fraud, compliance, and operational constraints while staying fast, intuitive, and trustworthy.
Champion modern, consistent, and agentic‑ready experiences across web and mobile, aligning partners on strategy, metrics, and high-quality delivery.
We’d love to chat if you have:
7–10+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS or financial services, with deep exposure to payments, AP, spend management, or cash‑flow optimization.
Proven success owning mission‑critical financial workflows (e.g., payment flows, method selection, post‑payment “where’s my money?” experiences) from strategy to scaled adoption.
Strong understanding of payment rails and products (ACH, checks, domestic/international wires/local rails, card/virtual card, instant, wallets/BILL Cash) and their tradeoffs in cost, speed, risk, and vendor experience.
A track record of using data and experimentation to drive financial and product outcomes (e.g., blended cost reduction, mix‑shift to optimal rails, rebates/discount capture, liquidity improvements).
Exceptional cross‑functional leadership and communication skills that align Engineering, Design, Risk, Finance, Operations, and GTM around a clear product strategy.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience designing recommendation or optimization features with Data Science/AI, including agentic or AI‑driven workflows.
Demonstrated ability to connect product metrics to business results (e.g., revenue, TPV, retention, working capital outcomes).
Experience delivering modern, multi‑platform (web and mobile) payment experiences at scale.
