Job Profile Summary 

We are seeking a Lead Engineer – Mobile Automation Testing with strong experience in building high-quality, scalable, enterprise-grade mobile applications.

This role will lead mobile quality engineering efforts across iOS and Android platforms, working closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Developers, and ESQA partners to deliver reliable, customer-facing digital solutions.
 

Key Skills:  

  • Mobile automation frameworks: Appium, Selenium.
  • Good to have Espresso, Maestro, Hybrid IO, Playwright
  • Programming languages: Java, Kotlin, Swift, or JavaScript.
  • REST API testing and backend integration validation.
  • CI/CD and DevOps tooling (Jenkins, Git, pipelines).
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and automation-first delivery models.
  • Use AI tools like GitHub Copilot, and test generators to accelerate script creation, refactoring, and documentation.
  • Cloud Device farms and infrastructure: Browser Stack or AWS.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–12 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience leading mobile automation testing initiatives.
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum / Scaled Agile environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced delivery environment.
  • Experience with cloud-based device farms and test environments.
  • Prefer Knowledge of performance, security, and accessibility testing for mobile applications.
  • Prefer Experience in financial services, insurance, or regulated domains is a plus.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Own and execute mobile automation strategy aligned with Guardian’s digital and quality standards.
  • Define and establish automation frameworks and best practices for iOS and Android platforms.
  • Partner with Solution Architects and Product Owners to align testing strategy with product roadmaps and acceptance criteria.
  • Establish and enforce quality gates, automation standards, and best practices across mobile teams.
  • Drive automation for functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster releases.
  • Review automation code and ensure scalability, maintainability, and reusability.
  • Collaborate with ESQA and partner teams to ensure consistent quality outcomes across programs.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach QA and Automation Engineers.
  • Support estimation, planning, and risk assessment from a quality perspective.
  • Define and track quality metrics such as automation coverage and defect leakage.
  • Provide quality insights and release readiness assessments to stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to security, accessibility, and compliance requirements.
  • Work Shift – will need to work in overlapping time zone with US at different intervals
