Summary:
The Senior Laboratory Technician provides advanced technical support to engineers and scientists by performing complex laboratory tasks, developing and refining procedures, and preparing detailed technical reports and documentation. This senior-level role conducts in-depth evaluations to identify root causes of technical issues, recommends and implements corrective actions, and serves as a subject-matter resource across laboratory and technical disciplines within the Technical Specialty function.
What You Will Do:
- Construct new concept prototypes, modify existing products, build packaging configurations, and design test fixtures under minimal supervision from an NPD Engineer/Scientist or Senior/Master Technician.
- Safely operate hand tools, common power tools (e.g., drill press, band saw, grinder), advanced equipment (mill), and perform complex hand/machine sewing for prototyping and production; understand equipment setup, maintenance, and repair.
- Collaborate on developing and executing performance and safety test methods (e.g., pressure mapping, friction, MVTR, impact, load, acceleration, electrical testing including current and voltage).
- Perform basic chemistry laboratory functions including ingredient measurement, mixing, emulsions, and pH testing.
- Build and troubleshoot basic electrical circuits using breadboards, PLCs, circuit boards, relays, PWM, etc., with strong awareness of electrical safety risks.
- Analyze data using Excel (spreadsheets, charts, statistical calculations) and prepare first through final drafts of regulatory-approved protocols and technical reports.
- Lead and participate in pilot and production runs, including assembly, pack-out, inspections, testing, documentation, and reporting.
- Maintain laboratory operations by overseeing recordkeeping, applying lab performance metrics, performing preventive maintenance and complex repairs, coordinating larger-scale service needs, and proactively improving lab layout, processes, and productivity.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs
- Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to lift and carry parts and assemblies up to 25 lbs. no more than 4 feet up and no more than 25 feet away.
- Ability to lift boxes 25 to 60 lbs. no more than 4 feet up and carried no more than 6 feet away.
Preferred:
- Schooling or training in machining, tool and die, and welding
$30.82 – $42.63 per hour plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
