The analytical department within the chemistry hub plays a crucial role in mining data-driven operations by providing specialized analytical techniques and methodologies. These techniques are essential for understanding the composition and structure of matter, which is vital for making informed decisions

Your responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for fire assay analysis, including crushing, pulverizing, and weighing.
  • Perform fire assay fusions and cupellation according to established procedures.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including furnaces, balances, and atomic absorption spectrometers.
  • Record and interpret analytical data, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality control standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or a related scientific field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Lab Technician, with specific experience in fire assay techniques.
  • Proven ability to perform precise measurements and follow detailed procedures.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and chemical handling.
  • Experience with atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
