Position Overview:- Under direct supervision of IT Manager, provides technical support for the installation, repair, and maintenance of personal computers, workstations and related software and hardware used by Parsons employees, contractors or clients. Handles a range of troubleshooting activities to resolve identified questions, issues and problems with individual and group hardware and software, with special emphasis on issues that may require research and initiative to identify and resolve. Familiar with AI tools like Copilot, records and reports data about the resolution of specific issues, questions and problems and refers specialized matters to other Parsons IT teams and other IT work groups. Willing to work in flexible shifts to support IT projects and business deliveries.
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior IT Support Technician to join our team ! In this role you will get to provide IT support for end users onsite and remote.
What You'll Be Doing:
Provides in-person analytical and technical support for the installation, repair, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, modifications and enhancements to individual workstations, personal computers, related hardware, and software. May have special knowledge and skills in specialized areas required to support Parsons end user computing environment.
Troubleshoots software and hardware questions, issues, problems and failures with workstations, personal computers, related hardware, and software; this may include more complex and challenging matters that require research and initiative to resolve. Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, follow-up actions and refer those to higher-level End User Support staff members or to other IT groups.
Troubleshoot all Microsoft products including - Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, OWA, MS Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint administration changes
Experience in supporting and managing Microsoft productive application suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
Knowledge / ability to install, administer, configure and support collaborative tools / applications such as MS Teams, WebEx, OneDrive, SharePoint.
Assures that all activities are documented and reported according to Parsons and IT standards.
Maintain and manage the local IT Hardware inventory including spares. Responsible for H/W and S/W receiving on delivery from vendors. Maintains knowledge of current trends in the development of end user hardware and software
May work with third-party vendors and contractors in handling routine installation, maintenance and use of their products and services.
May work in flexible shifts to support IT projects and business delivery
Assists with project mobilization activities; may work with projects having to do with IT infrastructure hardware, as directed.
Independently correspond with various Service Providers in resolving issues or requesting services. Ensure IS spares and stocks are proactively managed. Provide status reports on site issues and Incident cases.
Knowledge / ability to install, administer, configure and support Engineering applications including, but not limited to, Autodesk, Bentley, ProjectWise etc. Experience in troubleshooting & eliminating all Desktop related issues, before escalating Engineering Application issues
Understands the concept of and able to provide first level user support for Electronic Document Management Systems (e.g. Aconex or any other related).
Understands the concept of and able provide first level user support for Project Control Systems e.g. Primavera and Collaboration Services e.g. Microsoft SharePoint.
Works with end users as necessary to assure they know and follow new and existing procedures.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor or Diploma in Computer Science or related field with min 6+ years of related work experience providing support to end users or working in an IT support role.
Ability to identify, analyze and resolve technical issues, questions and problems with hardware and software configurations.
A good knowledge of Microsoft operating system, Office 365, Antivirus, troubleshooting tools and applications as well as a very good knowledge of personal computer technology, including a variety of computer models windows, mac, printers, mdm devices and peripherals.
Written and oral communication skills in English is must for the position (Arabic will be added advantage), including the ability to speak very well in basic professional situations and present technical data in a logical manner that is easy to understand (may include communication via telephone, in person, or presenting to small groups).
Ability to write moderately complex documents (may include emails, procedures, presentations). Typically communicates with a wide variety of individuals (employees and managers) throughout the organization and outside of the organization (i.e. clients, vendors).
Certifications:
Microsoft Certified Professional (O365)
CompTIA A+ required ( similar A+ Hardware trainings)
Copilot & AI tools knowledge
ITIL Certified desired
