The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead strategic IT projects within Abbott’s Legal and Office of Ethics & Compliance (OEC) divisions. This onsite role in Lake County, Illinois offers the opportunity to manage complex initiatives that ensure compliance, improve processes, and deliver impactful technology solutions aligned with organizational goals.
What You’ll Work On
Partner with business and IT leaders to review business cases, prioritize initiatives, and create strategic roadmaps.
Define project goals, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
Develop and execute detailed work plans, schedules, and frameworks to track milestones and progress.
Ensure Legal and OEC applications comply with corporate and divisional policies.
Manage scope changes, risks, and issues, and drive resolution strategies.
Oversee external vendors and delivery partners to ensure project objectives are met.
Monitor project financials and performance against plan and budget.
Communicate progress through timely reports and facilitate decision-making.
Capture lessons learned and secure final project approvals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of experience in project management, business systems analysis, or software development.
Proven track record delivering cross-functional IT programs in a corporate environment.
Strong leadership skills and experience working in a global matrix organization.
Knowledge of software development practices, tools, and quality processes.
Familiarity with technologies related to Privacy, Compliance, Legal, and website development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in FDA-regulated environments (e.g., validated software for medical, pharmaceutical, or life sciences).
Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret vision and strategy to drive adoption of best practices.

The base pay for this position is
$99,300.00 – $198,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
