Job Description

The Senior Release & Infrastructure Manager is responsible for overseeing software release processes and ensuring the reliability of core IT infrastructure. This role bridges release planning, deployment automation, and infrastructure operations, serving as a key technical leader who coordinates across engineering, operations, and business stakeholders. The position includes dotted-line oversight of technical staff and a strong emphasis on process improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Release Management & Deployment

  • Own and continuously improve the end-to-end release management lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, coordination, and communication across teams
  • Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable, repeatable, and efficient deployments across environments
  • Define and enforce release readiness criteria, go/no-go decisions, and rollback procedures
  • Coordinate release windows and change schedules with stakeholders to minimize business disruption

Infrastructure Reliability & Operations

  • Oversee the operational health, monitoring, and maintenance of IT infrastructure services including network, compute, and supporting systems
  • Provide technical guidance to ensure infrastructure maintains the robustness, resiliency, and capacity needed for business continuity
  • Drive incident response coordination and support timely restoration of services during outages or system failures
  • Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability through automation, observability tooling, and proactive capacity planning

Leadership & Coordination

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to operational staff through dotted-line oversight, including guidance on priorities, development opportunities, and performance feedback
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical or cross-functional issues
  • Act as a liaison between IT, engineering, and internal customers to align release and infrastructure priorities with business needs
  • Champion process improvements and contribute to the maturation of release and operational practices across the organization

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, release engineering, DevOps, or related technical roles
  • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD tooling, deployment automation, and release coordination
  • Experience providing technical leadership or oversight to team members, even in a matrixed or dotted-line capacity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability platforms
  • Familiarity with ITIL or similar frameworks for change and incident management
  • Experience working in environments with complex or regulated release processes

Compensation Range

$110,500.00 - $165,700.00
