Transaction Banking (GTB) is a key growth business within TDS, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact with top‑tier organizations. We deliver innovative transaction banking solutions and treasury advisory services to address large and complex liquidity, payments, and ledger needs.
The business continues to evolve in response to changing macroeconomic conditions, rapid innovation, shifting interest rate environments, and foreign exchange movements. As a result, GTB business lines are constantly advancing to provide optimal accounts, ledger, liquidity, and payment solutions for our clients.
The Transaction Banking Technology team plays a critical role in this journey by delivering best‑in‑class technology solutions that enable and support the growth of the global GTB business.
TDS has embarked on a multi‑year digital transformation of GTB to position the transaction bank as a leading North American multi‑currency treasury provider, enabling significant growth across the TDS franchise.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to help design and build the next generation of GTB transaction banking capabilities, with a focus on:
Extending a highly successful GTB platform into the U.S. market
Future‑proofing the business through a flexible, scalable platform that can evolve efficiently as client and industry needs continue to change
We are looking for a talented Software Engineer with 6+ years of experience who is passionate about building modern, scalable, and secure systems.
The successful candidate will have:
Strong experience building microservices using Java and Spring Boot
Working knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python, C#, or Go
Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs that integrate across multiple systems
Solid understanding of API security best practices, including OAuth2, JWT, and SSL/TLS
Experience building stream‑based applications (e.g., Kafka)
Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries (e.g., Azure SQL, PostgreSQL)
Experience with batch processing (Spring Batch) and scheduling tools (Autosys, Azure Client Services)
Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, or Splunk
Proficiency with IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA and WebStorm
Extensive experience using GitHub and Bitbucket, including branching strategies and code reviews
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, with the ability to actively contribute to sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives
Knowledge of Azure cloud, Kubernetes, and Docker
College degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience
7+ years of related professional experience
Expert knowledge of the technical environment and tools relevant to the role
Strong problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate with minimal supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization
