Senior IT Business Analyst – Record to Report

Dublin, Ireland Full time

As the Senior IT Business Analyst – Record to Report you will be the primary internal IT contact and will interface with the technical community accountable for planning and delivery. You will support Aptiv’s technology leadership in managing the Record to Report Application portfolio.

Adopting a collaborative approach, you will collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using standard tools and models), from which solutions are developed, enabling effective project outcomes. The Senior IT Business Analyst supports proper consumption and insight generation inside business organizations through analysis and support in the planning and execution of an assigned information capability and technology roadmap.


Your Role

  • Partner with business process owners and IT client-facing teams to elicit and document business requirements for new and / or enhanced functional capabilities

  • Employ various techniques to define, elicit, analyse, record, and validate requirements throughout a project lifecycle

  • Develop business process models, business requirements (functional and non-functional) along with relevant use cases for the business processes

  • Serve as the liaison between the business community and the IT architecture and development teams through which requirements flow to enable solutions that deliver long-term value and meet Aptiv standards.

  • Use your functional knowledge of business and technology to recommend systems and process opportunities to improve, expand, or retire existing capabilities & technology to increase the value to Aptiv

  • Develop collaborative working relationships with the business community to ensure comprehensive user acceptance testing occurs, training plans are developed & executed, and application solutions are successfully deployed to business functions

  • Investigate and learn business issues and data challenges for business processes.

  • Support the IT Record to Report Service Owner as the business advocate (Voice of customer) in all stages of project delivery. 

  • Support with delivery of IT application support services to record to report applications and contribute to lessons learned and the continuous improvement of IT services

  • Support IT Strategy Development of the record to report portfolio through detailed analysis and data collection and maintenance of the Aptiv Application Repository

  • Support IT Service Owners, Architect teams and Procurement with input to Requirements for Future Technology evaluation and selection process

Your Background

  • Bachelor or Master degree in the field of the field of computer science, business administration, finance, accounting, MIS or related discipline.

  • 3+ years of experience in multi-national environment within the IT department. 

  • Working knowledge and experience in providing IT solutions for Record to Report functional processes, including Finance operations, Financial Accounting and Planning, Treasury, Tax, Indirect Taxes, including E-Compliance (E-invoicing, SAF-T)

  • Exposure to and knowledge of key applications servicing Finance Functions would be preferred – SAP, High Radius, Trintech Cadency, Oracle Hyperion, SOVOS E-compliance.

  • Working knowledge and/or experience with of the Systems Development Lifecycle, ITIL, IT infrastructure services, IT Audit and Compliance Management and ServiceNow Platform

  • Experience in IT project management (Six Sigma), requirements definition, process definition, and testing.

  • Experience in utilizing requirements tools, along with requirements traceability and gap analysis experience

  • Experience in software development methodology

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) a plus

  • Strong Communication (verbal and written) and analytical skills

  • Strong collaboration & facilitation skills and ability to deal with business leaders

  • Drives Action: Experience facilitating workshops with small and large groups

  • Builds Relationships: Ability to create constructive relationships, influence, and communicate to multiple stakeholders, including client management, and operate successfully in a matrixed IT environment

  • Handles Pressure: Demonstrated ability to work in a high-intensity, multi-project environment, with the ability to multi-task.
