About the Role:
Morningstar’s Investment Management South Africa is seeking an outstanding Senior Investment Operations Analyst to join our investment operations team. We are looking for an assertive, detail-oriented, self-starter who can work effectively in a highly collaborative team setting. In this role you will support the day-to-day investment operations tasks. The ideal candidate has excellent organisation and time management skills, the ability to multi-task in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, be proficient in running projects, and thrive in documenting, implementing, and improving processes. This position is based in our Cape Town office and reports to the Head of Operations, South Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily cash flow allocation processing, pre- and post- trade compliance, trade execution processing as well as cash and position reconciliation.
Manage the model portfolios on the various platforms.
Manage the portfolio rebalances and reallocations implementation.
Manage the production of daily, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting, including but not limited to NAV reporting, Factsheets, Commentary, AUM reporting, Client reporting.
Support with new client and service provider onboarding.
Support the maintenance of investment and operational tools and databases.
Take ownership of internal/external queries and requests and ensure they are resolved timeously and effectively.
Work closely with various internal teams to ensure excellent service offering.
Maintain existing client and service provider relationships.
Continually review and improve operational processes to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
Maintenance of procedure documentation.
Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an Investment Operations or Fund Administration role related role.
Sound understanding of the SA investment and platform industry.
Experience working in a small, high-performance team, adept at managing multiple priorities.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with related financial systems (Morningstar Direct, Tableau and Salesforce etc.) beneficial.
Strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards.
Postgraduate degree or Honours in Investments, Finance, or Commerce.
