This is the career/senior level of the Inventory Analyst classification hierarchy. Employees at this level manage work in various areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. Manage all aspects of inventory management to align with Business Unit requirements and standards. Incumbents are expected to have advanced skills and have the ability to work independently. They are advanced in use of concepts and procedures. They identify problems, develop solutions, and take actions to resolve.
Provides proficient inventory management functions such as but not limited to evaluations for material replenishment, stocking levels, material sharing opportunities, shelf life, catalog maintenance including new item requests/set-up, Purchase Requisition development, cost avoidance and inventory reduction savings with minimal direction by Management, etc.
Evaluates material requests and stocking levels in an advanced manner to optimize inventory while supporting Plant needs and schedules
Demonstrates advanced collaboration and communication skills with the Business Unit to validate material needs and identify best options for fulfilment, procurement or material sharing opportunities
Demonstrates an advanced understanding of upstream and downstream decisions that impact inventory
Ensures compliance with all related federal and state laws and regulations, Duke Energy business standards and Accounting for Materials and Supplies Inventory
Demonstrates advanced inventory analysis and evaluation skills of inventory management practices
Manages daily, monthly, quarterly reports and metrics
Become qualified to support applicable job functions via completion of the Position Specific Guide (PSG) for Inventory Management.
Demonstrate advanced procedural use and adherence skills/knowledge for addressing the multitude of scenarios impacting the inventory management and procurement of material including i.e. implementation of IER 21-4, safety related requirements (checking QSL, Critical Digital Assets requirements, etc.) IRA applicability, etc.
Demonstrate advanced skills to address and handle items within the Corrective Action Program (CAP)
Continued education and training requirements as required

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or Economics
5 years related work experience
In lieu of Bachelor's degree(s) AND 5 year(s) related work experience listed above, Associate's degree AND 7 year(s) related work experience OR High School/GED AND 9 year(s) related work experience
Inventory Management Qualification, NSCD-245A
Previous inventory management and/or, procurement, experience
Microsoft Office Suite
Advanced analytical, business acumen, problem solving, & customer service skills
Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and proven desire to learn
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong multitasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize a robust workload with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of Asset Suite or Maximo [as applicable]
Self-motivated and driven work ethic
Virtual Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from a remote location after the onboarding period. However, virtual employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
This work is to be performed at a virtual location in North Carolina or South Carolina that is within a reasonable commute (within 60 miles) to Charlotte, NC (Duke Energy Plaza), Raleigh, NC (Fayetteville St) OR one of our six Nuclear Stations/Plants.
Report to assigned Duke Energy facility when required and directed by Management
This position could require after-hours and weekend support, including but not limited to duty weeks, outage support, emergent needs, etc.
May be occasionally around construction/maintenance activities
May require travel to other business locations/facilities
May require some travel to vendor locations
Tasks are straightforward, routine and often repetitive
Tasks follow set guidelines or procedures
Employee must compare alternative courses of action and make a decision after considering options
Employee receives clear instructions from supervisor regarding what to do and how to do it
