Senior Instructor – Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC)

The Role We Are Offering You

As a Senior Instructor at NSWC, you will:

• Supervise and manage the delivery of synthetic warfare training scenarios, including Advanced Tactical Training (ATT).
• Lead and mentor the NSWT delivery team, ensuring compliance with training standards and operational requirements.
• Plan and execute major synthetic events (LFE, ATT, SWIPE), filling key roles such as EXCON Director, Battle Management Coordinator, and Tactical Coordinator.
• Liaise with Defence agencies and coalition partners to align training objectives and capabilities.
• Provide recommendations to streamline processes and enhance training effectiveness.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

Essential:

• 8–12 years of experience in naval operations and synthetic training environments.
• Familiarity with Naval Combat Management Systems (AEGIS and 9LV preferred).
• Strong understanding of RAN operational structure, warfighting principles, and doctrine.
• Experience with ADF operations and exercise requirements (minimum 10 years).
• Proven leadership experience managing teams of combat system operators.

Desirable:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Background in roles such as Surveillance Control Officer, Fighter Controller, Air Combat Officer, or similar.
• Experience in intelligence coordination or tactical planning roles.

HMAS Watson, Watsons Bay, South Head NSW.
