The Lead Information Technology (IT) Solutions Architect serves as the senior technical lead responsible for assessing requirements, analyzing current environments, and developing modernization solutions in support of a Department of War (DOW) IT modernization program. This role leads requirements gathering and engineers integrated, standards-based solutions that modernize enterprise and site networks while ensuring compliance with Army policies and cybersecurity requirements. The position provides architectural guidance to standardize and scale network modernization approaches across multiple sites and ensures that engineering documentation, processes, and procedures are complete, current, and operationally usable. The Lead Information Technology (IT) Solutions Architect stays current on rapidly evolving IT technologies and introduces innovative concepts that improve performance, security, and maintainability of modernized network solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Conduct assessment, analysis, and solution development for Army network modernization initiatives.
· Lead requirements gathering and engineer solutions using industry best practices.
· Ensure solutions comply with pertinent Army policies and cybersecurity requirements and support compliant IT system integrations.
· Develop and guide standardized wired, wireless, fiber, deployable, and enterprise network architectures across sites (standardization and deconfliction across locations).
· Maintain direction and oversight for engineering documentation, processes, and procedures supporting design and modernization efforts.
· Evaluate emerging technologies and propose innovative approaches to evolve modernization processes over time.
Basic Qualifications
· BA/BS degree in a relevant field and a Minimum of ten (10) years of experience (within the last fifteen years) as a Network Engineer.
· Possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
· Minimum of five (5) years of experience (within the last seven years) designing and developing IT solutions.
· Minimum of five (5) years of experience (within the last seven years) delivering network modernization projects.
Preferred Qualifications
· Current Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification.
· Two (2) years of experience working with commercial internet service providers.
· Five (5) years of experience in DoD network design and IT modernization.
· Five (5) years of experience conducting spectrum analysis with industry-standard tools.
Salary Range: $125,000.00 - $192,000.00
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
