The Senior Industrial Engineer provides plant manufacturing with support in the areas of line speed calculations and reporting, material loss rates, throughput evaluation, headcount justification, capacity analysis and downtime evaluation. 

As part of the Operational Excellence department, the Industrial Engineer also supports the plant with Shingo progress and certification. The engineer will be responsible for driving principle-based behaviors within the plant which include:  creating value for our business and customers, focusing on the process, and embracing data & facts.

What You'll Do:

  • Monitoring and reporting metrics for all plant production areas

  • Developing and maintaining annual plant OEE and plant distress and scrap

  • Actively supporting the site Operational Excellence effort including MOS (Manufacturing Operating System)

  • Observing, analyzing, and supporting operations leading to business process improvement recommendations

  • Coaching / mentoring Green Belt teams on the proper application of Lean Six Sigma tools

  • Facilitating the generation of project charters and Kaizen events with internal and external customers

  • Solving problems with tools like PDCA, A3 problem solving and Why-Why that have a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional processes, and difficult coordination requirements

  • Providing Capital and CIP Project support for those projects which affect material loss, labor increases or reduction, and/or throughput changes

  • Managing the employee idea program

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system

  • Other plant support as assigned

The Industrial Engineer is accountable for the accuracy of plant performance metrics and labor / material standards.  In addition, the Industrial Engineer is accountable for change management associated with key site initiatives.

Education and Experience You'll Bring:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence – necessary to understand plant operations

  • 5+ yrs experience in manufacturing environment

  • Must possess good communication, leadership, problem solving, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of operational analytics applications, including SEEQ is strongly preferred.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred – necessary to coach / mentor Green Belt teams

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Power BI is strongly preferred.

  • High degree of technical expertise and familiarity with infant formula or fast-moving commercial goods manufacturing processes. 

The base pay for this position is

$78,000.00 – $156,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
