OVERVIEW:

Direct and indirect responsibility for multi-initiative project management through implementation of in store environment strategies for new and existing stores.  

This role partners across Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, In-Store Communications, Store Planning, as well as other enterprise-wide partners and third-party vendors to plan, organize, communicate, implement, and validate end to end execution of key in-store environment initiatives.  

This role provides direct and indirect oversight for multiple complex projects through creation of project charter, external vendor communication and detailed timelines and ensures the project is completed on-time, within budget and meets internal/external partner expectations.

Candidate should be extremely organized and a self-starter with ability to lead and influence conversations with executive leadership and drive results through collaboration.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Establish Project Charter, develop and communicate timelines, manage project budget, and align cross-functional resourcing support.

  • Manage and lead cross-functional Project execution overseeing the development of business programs and initiatives, customer and company communications and training.

  • Actively monitor project risks, scope, and financial management and facilitate communication for key stakeholder alignment, approvals, and recommendations to remove identified barriers.

  • Own preparation for internal and vendor partner meetings include agenda preparation, project presentation updates, financial progress tracking, timeline/calendars and overall project status.

  • Facilitate executive project steering committee and initiatives status meetings.

Project Implementation & Change Adoption

  • Lead the prioritization and successful implementation of key business strategies and communication that impact store and corporate processes.

  • Directs communication and alignment with leadership and third-party vendors regarding solutions, implementation adoption and support needs.

  • Drive change initiatives by identifying and defining desired change and processes, validating value and priority, driving project plans to implement processes, assessing readiness for change, managing expectations, adjusting approaches to have change adopted by the entire organization, and ensuring timely project management from pilot to the execution stage.

  • Provide post implementation analytics and hindsight learnings.

Partnerships and Collaboration 

  • Build relationships and partner cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders

  • Provide strategic and tactical thought leadership leveraging data and experience to influence discussions and provide leadership recommendations.

  • Create an environment that encourages discussion and fosters collaboration while navigating through ambiguity to implement project deliverables.

 Developing Talent and Teammate Engagement

  • Build effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.

  • Manage execution responsibilities and workload of direct reports to achieve department deliverables on time and with quality.

  • Provide direct reports with timely and regular feedback to support teammate development/ growth in role.

  • Develop talent on your team to meet both their career goals and the organization’s goals

  • Partner with department leadership to establish strategic staffing and succession plans; successfully deliver on proposed staffing objectives.

  • Drive the talent selection process in alignment with the company’s talent philosophy for open direct reporting positions; Ensure all direct reports are appropriately trained and on-boarded.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of apparel merchandising and visual merchandising required

  • Ability to identify risks and offer recommendations to support risk mitigation

  • Ability to build constructive relationships with merchants, vendors, and team members in a corporate environment.

  • Ability to convey ideas/concepts to others.

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign

  • Ability to manage budget and purchase order management

  • Excellent written & Verbal Communication Skills

  • Project management knowledge (PMP preferred), and the ability to drive projects and manager project teams

  • Strong interpersonal & client consultation skills

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Strong detail orientation
