Responsibilities:
This is a part-time job working 24 hours per week and is fully office based out of Wilmington, MA.
The Immigration Specialist will drive the immigration process including non-immigrant (i.e., OPT/STEM, H-1B, TN, L-I and) and immigrant petitions (permanent residence sponsorship) in partnership with our immigration counsel.
Standardize immigration processes to improve efficiency and mitigate risk for the company.
Review and analyze information and/or documentation of petitions/applications with appropriate U.S. government agencies.
Coordinate and monitor the H-1B lottery.
Communicate with cross functional teams to obtain information and provide updates on visa filings, including meetings to explain immigration situations and co-ordinate with attorneys for additional clarification.
Maintain and monitor all active immigration cases, gather updated immigration support documents, research and escalate issues.
Utilize Workday to accurately capture immigration data, generate reporting insights, and develop comprehensive knowledge articles.
Serve as primary owner in executing requirements when initiating permanent residency cases and/or filing visa extensions (including but not limited to physical wall posting, system postings, review of candidate eligibility and obtaining various data points & documents).
Drive Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance, including the reverification process.
Educate hiring managers, HR, and employees about immigration procedures and company policies.
Advise on immigration operations, proactively assessing and planning for regulatory changes that may impact the program and/or visa-dependent employees.
Maintain relationship with Immigration Attorneys, and review and approve vendor invoices and payments relating to immigration, while providing expense updates to department heads so they understand total costs related to immigration.
Drive process efficiencies with vendors and other providers to manage expenses and find ways to reduce costs.
Respond to immigration questions, review issues and employee concerns regarding immigration guidelines, legal requirements, and procedures.
Lead the collaboration of multiple functions such as Legal, Tax, Comp & Ben, Payroll, Talent Acquisition and HR to ensure compliance with various programs, policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
2 – 5+ years prior U.S. employment‐based immigration experience, preferably in the tech industry. Prior International Immigration experience helpful but not required.
Must be familiar with the current governmental immigration climate, trends, rules, policies, laws, mandates, requirements, etc.
Ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately while identifying possible solutions.
Experience managing and prioritizing inquiries from foreign nationals, clients, and teammates.
Ability to work independently, while being a strong collaborator with a variety of internal teams.
Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
High level of initiative and strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong and effective written and verbal skills with the ability to collaborate with team members and business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work cross-functionally.
BS/BA or equivalent experience required.
Estimated Salary Range for this part-time role: $66,198 - $74,637
