Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior IBM MQ Administrator with over 10 years of expertise in managing, configuring, and optimizing IBM MQ environments across hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructures. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on Linux skills, deep infrastructure and architecture knowledge, and familiarity with Java middleware technologies. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and high performance of our messaging systems, supporting mission-critical applications, and leading architectural best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, deployment, and management of IBM MQ infrastructure in hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
Deliver expert-level support for installation, configuration, and upgrades of IBM MQ instances.
Maintain and optimize MQ performance, availability, and security.
Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
Handson HA / DR Implementation knowledge
Develop and oversee disaster recovery, high-availability, and scalability strategies.
Collaborate with development, operations, security, and architecture teams to align messaging solutions with enterprise standards.
Provide strong hands-on support on Linux platforms, including system tuning, scripting, and automation.
Architect and implement infrastructure solutions, ensuring robust and scalable architecture designs.
Automate routine tasks and deployments using scripting, configuration management, and orchestration tools.
Enforce security best practices, including SSL/TLS, access controls, and compliance standards.
Share expertise in Java middleware technologies and integrate IBM MQ with other middleware solutions as needed.
Mentor junior team members and lead technical initiatives related to messaging and infrastructure.
Maintain comprehensive documentation covering architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Stay updated on IBM MQ innovations, cloud services, Linux advancements, and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.
IBM MQ Monitoring skills using Avada IR360 and / or NewRelic
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
10+ years of extensive experience managing IBM MQ environments in enterprise settings.
Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix administration and scripting.
Deep expertise in IBM MQ architecture, administration, and troubleshooting.
Proven experience deploying and managing IBM MQ in hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud).
Strong infrastructure, architecture, and design skills for messaging and middleware systems.
Knowledge of Java middleware technologies (e.g., WebSphere, JBoss, Spring) is a plus.
Proficiency with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern deployment pipelines.
Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
Relevant certifications such as IBM MQ Certified System Administrator, Linux certifications, Cloud certifications, or Java middleware certifications are highly desirable.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience.
