Job Requirement

Senior HVAC+ MEP Engineer with proven experience in design, coordination and execution of MEP and HVAC systems for infrastructure projects. Their role involves creating and reviewing designs, coordinating with other disciplines like architects, electrical engineers, construction contractors and vendors while ensuring projects meet quality and safety standards. Engineers to have strong knowledge of HVAC software, international standards like ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC etc. and have exposure in infrastructure, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, onshore/ offshore brownfield work. Experience in FEED, detailed engineering and Concept of medium to large scale projects in Middle east required. ADNOC experience will be an added advantage. To be based in Abu Dhabi- UAE.

Key Skills & Technical Competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge in Standards like ASHRAE, SMACNA, IEC etc 

  • Hands-on knowledge in Design Software like Carrier HAP. 

  • Technical expertise in MEP system

  • Hands-on knowledge in Selection of equipment like Chillers, Packaged and Split Systems, Air Handlers, Pumps, Fans, Cooling towers, etc. 

  • Understanding Fire safety, ventilation, NFPA, Water regulations

  • Familiar with the latest engineering and analytical techniques/software as applicable.

Job Responsibility and Requirement

  • Design and review heat load calculations by using HAP following ASHRAE standards, ventilation calculations, pressure drop calculations for ducting and piping, duct sizing, pipe sizing, etc. and equipment selection using relevant software (e.g., HAP, AutoCAD).

  • Design and review Pump and pipe sizing

  • Coordinate MEP services with Architectural, structural, Electrical distribution, lighting, etc.

  • Prepare design basis, datasheets, technical specifications, technical requisitions, technical bid evaluations

  • Follow up on technical scope of work with vendors and review technical submittals, drawings, method statement etc.

  • Review, approve and ensure compliance with project specifications, ASHRAE and local authority standards for shop drawings/ technical documentataion.

  • Estimate capacity and size.

  • Duct & Pipe sizing, Air Flow Diagrams, D&ID’s, Cause and Effect Diagrams

  • HVAC Control Philosophies, HVAC Ducting layout etc.

  • Hands-on in review of Post Order Contractor / Supplier documents 

  • Provide input and guidance for modelers in modelling tasks. Working knowledge of modelling software like E3D, S3D and Navisworks is desirable 

  • Should be able to independently estimate Bill of Quantities for Bulks like Ducting, Dampers, Registers, plumbing, pumping systems and other accessories.  

  • Material Requisition (MR) / Request for quotation (RFQ)/ TQ (Technical query) and Material Take off.

Experience required:

  • 8-10 years of experience required

  • Minimum 5+ Years of experience in Oil & gas industry

Mandatory:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized institution.

Relevant experience in Middle East
