As a Senior Human Factors Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative medical devices that are used by clinicians and patients around the world. Based in Andover, MA, this is an opportunity to lead human factors strategy across complex programs, influence product design from early discovery through launch, and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes within a highly collaborative, regulated environment.
What will you be doing?
Leading human factors and usability engineering strategy for assigned medical device programs from early research through regulatory submission and launch
Owning and delivering formative and summative usability studies, ethnographic research, task analyses, contextual inquiries and iterative concept evaluations
Informing product and business strategy through deep understanding of users, use environments, behaviors and constraints
Acting as the human factors subject matter expert, making independent recommendations to cross functional leadership and supporting regulatory interactions
Ensuring all human factors activities are planned, executed and documented in accordance with the QMS and global regulatory standards including IEC 62366 1 and FDA guidance
Collaborating closely with design, engineering and external partners while mentoring and coaching more junior team members
What will you need to be successful?
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Industrial Design, Cognitive Psychology, Engineering or a related discipline
5 to 8 years of experience applying human factors or usability engineering within product development, preferably in a regulated industry
Strong working knowledge of medical device usability standards and regulatory expectations
Hands on experience designing, moderating and reporting usability studies
Excellent communication, organization and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently across multiple programs
The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $111,750.00 - $167,500.00 USD annually and the compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, job-related knowledge/skills, geographical location. You will be entitled to receive bonus and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, and a variety of wellness offerings.
