System Configuration & Administration
Serve as functional lead for Workday Core HCM and multiple modules including Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Talent Management, Performance, Absence, Recruiting, and Onboarding
Provide escalated support for Workday and UKG HCM systems including configuration, business processes, security, and reporting
Configure and maintain organizational structures, supervisory organizations, job profiles, positions, locations, worker data, security roles, and workflows
Design, configure, test, and implement business processes with condition rules and validations for hire, termination, transfer, and job changes
Manage security design, business process configuration, and mass data processing using EIBs
Integrations & Reporting
Partner with IT to develop and maintain inbound/outbound integrations using EIBs, Connectors, and Workday Studio
Monitor integrations to ensure error-free delivery between third-party and internal systems
Design and create advanced, matrix, and composite reports with custom calculated fields and condition rules
Strategic Partnership & Consultation
Partner with HR colleagues and business leaders to gather requirements and translate business needs into system solutions
Lead discovery sessions and provide subject matter expertise on Workday capabilities, limitations, and best practices
Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend creative solutions leveraging existing technology investments
Act as trusted advisor using consultative approach to influence future processes and drive adoption of HR technology ecosystem
Conduct research studies, analyze data, and develop recommendations and reports for stakeholders
Project Management & Implementation
Lead and manage HRIS projects through full lifecycle from requirements gathering through design, build, testing, go-live, and support
Participate on project teams to implement new functionality and analyze, test, and document custom modifications
Manage Workday release efforts including impact analysis, scope definition, prioritization, and feature deployment
Drive and guide third-party vendors, functional consultants, and developers on architecture, design, and implementation
Provide change management expertise to maximize adoption and prioritize user experience when rolling out new functionality
Testing, Quality & Compliance
Conduct unit, system, integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing with accountability for pre-launch sign-off
Test and validate configurations, integrations, security, and annual events to ensure data integrity and compliance
Develop functional test cases and maintain testing documentation aligned with HR policies and requirements
Monitor Workday roadmap and proactively assess potential impacts of future releases
Documentation, Training & Support
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for business requirements, configurations, processes, and modifications
Prepare scripts and documentation to assist HR, Payroll, and business teams in daily tasks
Create, deliver, and maintain end-user training materials and training guides
Serve as escalation point for issues and provide timely, accurate resolution with excellent customer service
Troubleshoot configuration, business process, integration, reporting, and user interface issues
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Build strong cross-functional relationships with HR, IT, Payroll, Accounting, and business stakeholders
Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to leverage best practices and holistic solutions
Stay current with emerging technologies and provide recommendations to meet organizational objectives
Proactively identify opportunities for process efficiency and system optimization
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
Experience
4+ years of experience in HR/Talent Technology, HRIS systems, or related areas with at least one year preferred in a lead or senior role.
Prefer Workday functional configuration across three or more HCM modules (Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Performance, Talent, Absence, or Recruiting)
Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion and good judgment
Technical Skills & Expertise
In-depth knowledge of Workday Core HCM components including supervisory organizations, positions, job profiles, worker lifecycle, and security
Proven Workday functional expertise with awareness of capabilities, limitations, delivered functionality, and extensive configuration experience
Experience creating custom reports, calculated fields, and condition rules
Hands-on experience with EIBs, integrations, Connectors, and Workday Studio
Understanding of HR operations, employee data management, and HCM business processes
Working knowledge of integrated and automated HCM system transaction flows
