Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Manager to lead HR operations for our French organization of approximately 100 employees. This role requires a pragmatic and resilient HR professional with strong expertise in labor relations, policy development, and Works Council (WC) engagement. You will provide strategic and operational HR support, ensuring compliance with French labour laws while translating corporate policies into practical, localized solutions.
You will work closely with the existing HR Analyst in France and act as a coach and mentor to develop their capabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in multinational environments and be comfortable navigating complex organizational structures and unionized settings.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary HR lead for France, managing all HR processes, policies, and compliance requirements.
Partner with the Works Council and Union representatives to maintain constructive relationships and ensure legal compliance.
Drive HR initiatives including reorganizations, policy development, and implementation of corporate programs adapted for the French context.
Coach and develop the HR Analyst to build local HR capability.
Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on labour relations, employee engagement, and organizational change.
Ensure smooth execution of HR operations, including performance management, compensation, and employee relations.
Collaborate with European HR leadership on cross-border projects and initiatives, with potential to expand into pan-European responsibilities.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in HR leadership roles within France, ideally in a multinational organization.
Strong knowledge of French labour law, Works Council processes, and union negotiations.
Experience of executing Work force plans and with supporting changing business priorities
Demonstrated ability to translate corporate policies into local solutions.
Experience in organizational change, policy writing, and labor relations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to coach and mentor junior HR professionals.
Resilient, pragmatic, and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pan-European HR projects.
Fluency in French and English.
