This position is responsible for providing support and leadership to the assigned business partners and employees in employee relations, leave administration, staffing, payroll, training, policy interpretation and communication. The Sr. HR Generalist will engage in both strategic and tactical human resources functions for Sharp Packaging Services Conshohocken Campus and ensure compliance with all corporate related policies as well as all applicable government laws and regulations.

As Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will serve as a trusted partner to leaders and employees alike, providing hands‑on HR support across employee relations, labor and leave administration, time and attendance, recruiting, policy guidance, and HR process improvement in a unionized, operational environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains constant awareness of general employee issues/concerns and recommends solutions to management to ensure positive morale and a collaborative/supportive work environment.
- Actively interprets, implements and guides on policies and procedures.
- Represents the HR function in advising management of employee-relation issues and recommends proper resolutions.
- Assist Supervisors and Managers in the construction, approval and administration of coaching and counseling programs.
- Operates with a Continuous Improvement mindset and actively identifies opportunities for improvement in process and experience (employee, manager and/or candidate)
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Manage FMLA claims and coordinates STD/LTD.
- Administer union attendance policy, point system, timecards, time off requests, leave requests and annual vacation process.
- Support full life cycle recruitment process from an HR Administrative perspective, interviews, assesses, and supports the selection process to fill vacant positions for exempt, hourly and union positions.
- Manage relationship and daily contact with Temporary agencies to ensure personnel requirements are met.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Ensures data integrity throughout Workday HRIS System.
- Responds to sensitive and confidential issues and concerns raised by all levels of employees in a confidential, timely, and objective manner.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or equivalent knowledge required, PHR/SPHR preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years Human Resources Generalist experience. HR Generalist experience should include employee relations, leave administration, payroll, HRIS and recruitment. Experience includes providing HR support to operations/manufacturing employees and management groups. Manufacturing or similar work environment experience is strongly preferred.
- Must be inspired to drive change and enjoy seeking and providing clarity where ambiguity exists.
- Demonstrated success in deploying critical thinking and ability to synthesize various data points to support complex decision making.
- Prior experience in change management in implementing programs, policies and/or similar changes within an organization highly preferred.
- Must have a thorough understanding of, and the application of, employment and labor laws. Prior experience working in a union environment preferred. Proven track record of confident, yet collaborative decision making.
- Must be self-motivated and can comfortably work independently. Flexibility in responding to work requirements to meet the demands of a 24/7 operation.
- Must have a demonstrated work history of increasing responsibility. Must be very comfortable in being highly hands on, yet comfortable with “big picture” application.
- Strong MS Word and Excel skills are desired. Prior experience with Workday preferred. Experience with ADP Workforce Now and/or UKG Dimensions timekeeping a plus.
