We are seeking a strategic and influential Senior HR Business Partner to serve as a trusted advisor to Vanguard’s Finance Organization. In this pivotal role, you will shape and execute human capital strategies that enable business success, foster a high-performance culture, and drive organizational transformation. As a strong thought leader and coach, you will partner closely with senior executives to align talent priorities with business objectives, anticipate future needs, and deliver innovative solutions.


As the face of HR for Finance, you will bring deep expertise across the HR spectrum, exceptional relationship management skills, and the ability to navigate complexity with agility. This role demands a proactive leader who thrives in ambiguity, inspires teams, and influences change at the highest levels. Responsibilities
 

  • Set clear directions, inspiring and developing direct and indirect team members, and effectively managing executive relationships. Mastering the balance of strategic foresight and agility, able to pivot as business needs evolve.
  • Lead the strategic HR planning process on behalf of the aligned division and HR, providing thought leadership and strategic consultation support.
  • Develop HR strategies that support the needs of the business. Drive HR initiatives within the business area and acts as a liaison to other human resources functions. Partner with aligned business area(s) to assess staff engagement, retention, contingency planning, and career pathing. Work with senior leadership on determining the best employee goals, metrics, and drivers.
  • Collaborating closely with critical HR centers of excellence to ensure an integrated experience that enable outstanding business results and drives the positive voice of the client.
  • Inspire and motivate the team to excel in their roles, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Enabling sound business decisions through analytically driven insights.
  • Lead the implementation and coordination of core HR processes and programmatic transformational efforts.
  • Coach and develop HR Business Partners, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance and professional growth.
  • Influence priorities at the senior leadership level, advocating for HR initiatives and driving their implementation.
  • Effectively navigate complex and fast-paced situations, analyzing and resolving challenges with strategic thinking.
  • Embrace ambiguity and demonstrate the ability to set a strategy, encompassing long-term roadmaps and short-term goals.
  • Recognize when pivoting is necessary and execute strategic changes to adapt to evolving business needs.

Qualifications
 

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Eight years related work experience, with at least Five years of Human Resources experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to set clear agendas, inspire teams, and align work towards achieving desired outcomes.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a track record of developing and empowering high-performing teams.
  • Experience influencing priorities at the senior leadership level, effectively advocating for HR initiatives and driving change.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking abilities, capable of sorting through complex matters and providing innovative solutions.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to navigate and lead through uncertainty and change.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with the capacity to collaborate and partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written.
