  • Provide specialist support to Housing Officers in managing complex tenancy issues such as arrears, breaches, hoarding, squalor, and tribunal or court matters.
  • Represent Mission Australia Housing in tribunal and court hearings, liaising with the legal team to ensure compliance and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Mentor and coach Housing Officers to build capability in managing complex tenancies and implementing early intervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, support agencies, and government partners to deliver sustainable housing outcomes and integrated service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate data and prepare reports on vacancies, allocations, arrears, and tenancy management, ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational policies.
  • Engage tenants in community programs and initiatives, fostering participation and building strong, thriving communities.

Requirements for success

  • Certificate IV in Social Housing or a related qualification is highly desirable.
  • Previous housing experience in community, public housing, or a government setting.
  • Experience interacting with tenants in domestic settings, including mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of state-based civil and administrative tribunal processes and previous experience representing at tribunal or court.
  • Strong understanding of the community housing sector and the needs of social and affordable housing tenants.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to build respectful relationships with tenants and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, including attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and maintain accurate records for compliance.
  • Current driver’s licence, Police Check, WWC Check, and First Aid Certificate
  • Familiarity with client management systems and reporting frameworks.
