Why Ferrovial?
We are seeking a highly experienced High Voltage Transmission Line Design Engineer to lead the design and delivery of overhead transmission line projects across Australia. You will play a key role in ensuring technical excellence, compliance with Australian standards, and successful project execution from concept to construction along with cost optimization.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Perform and/or supervise detailed engineering calculations for conductors, structures, foundations and clearances.
Develop and review design documentation, drawings, specifications and reports.
Ensure compliance with Australian standards (AS/NZS), utility requirements, and safety regulations.
Conduct design risk assessments and constructability reviews.
Interface with clients, project managers, construction teams, and regulatory authorities.
Support tendering, cost estimation and technical proposal development.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in overhead transmission line design.
Proven experience in Australian or similar international power networks.
Strong knowledge of relevant standards (AS/NZS 7000, AS 1170, etc.).
Experience with design software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, AutoCAD, and GIS tools.
Strong communication, leadership and client management skills.
Experience in EPC or utility-side projects highly regarded.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or eligible for Engineers Australia registration.
Experience working with major Australian utilities or transmission operators.
Knowledge of environmental and planning approval processes.
Familiarity with construction methodologies.
