As a Hardware Technician, you will be building cutting-edge hardware devices. You will be working hands-on with tools, configuring different hardware assemblies to help create the future of manufacturing. You will report to the Operations Manager and collaborate with the hardware engineers daily on process improvement and design feedback. As a hardware technician, you’ll be highly adaptable to the changing business environment and support the many activities within operations!

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble, repair, and rework small electronic components and assemblies.
  • Perform surface-mount (SMT) soldering and desoldering with precision and consistency.
  • Interpret and follow engineering prints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Assist in assembly processes, ensuring adherence to quality and production standards.
  • Configure basic network settings for devices, including IP setup and connectivity verification.
  • Utilize basic Linux commands for device setup, diagnostics, and file management.
  • Support mechanical assembly tasks involving fixtures, housings, fasteners, and hardware.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following ESD and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve build issues and provide feedback for process improvements.

Who You Are

  • Technical training/Trade School certification/ Associate degree in Tech Engineering or related industry experience
  • Proficiency working with small electronic components and PCB connections.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform accurate and reliable SMS soldering.
  • Detail oriented and have experience working with small and fragile components 
  • Basic understanding of Linux, including command-line operation.
  • Ability to perform basic network configuration (e.g., IP settings, ping tests, device connectivity).
  • Knowledge of general assembly processes and production workflows.
  • Mechanical aptitude, including comfort using hand tools and basic mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering prints, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Passionate about what you do and enjoy working in a collaborative environment
  • Eager to learn and grow in your field with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ok with working in the gray and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities 
  • Understanding of laser safety
  • Comprehension skills, Electronic language, component name and function (skills or summary

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate and use shop equipment
  • Able to climb ladders and bend over/move into awkward positions
  • Commitment to high standards of workmanship, the production of quality products, and continuous quality improvement
  • +35% Travel (domestic and international)
