As a stand-alone Government Relations Senior Advisor, you will be an integral part of our Strategy, Growth & Innovation team, working at the forefront of engagement with government stakeholders. This role can be based in either our North Sydney or Melbourne offices.
What you'll do:
Develop and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy aligned with Equifax's business goals.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key government officials at federal and state levels.
Proactively monitor and analyse legislative and regulatory reforms, assessing their potential impact on Equifax.
Articulate Equifax's position on relevant policy issues through effective advocacy and communication.
Prepare high-quality written communications for government bodies, including submissions and policy briefs.
Represent Equifax at industry events, conferences, and meetings with government stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with internal teams (Legal, Communications, Business Units) to ensure a unified approach to government relations initiatives.
Build and maintain coalitions with other organisations to advance shared policy objectives.
What you'll need:
Extensive experience in government relations, public policy, or a related field.
A strong understanding of Australian legislative and regulatory processes at both federal and state levels.
An established network of relationships with government officials and their advisors.
Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
Proven ability to analyse complex policy issues, identify potential impacts, and develop effective advocacy strategies.
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
A Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
