Senior Government Affairs Manager

China - Shanghai Office Full time

Role Purpose:

This strategic role supports Dyson’s high-profile government affairs agenda across Greater China, with a focus on regulatory engagement, policy navigation, and long-term stakeholder management. The Senior Government Affairs Manager will act as a bridge between internal teams and external government bodies, advocating Dyson’s values and business objectives while safeguarding its reputation and enabling sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Engagement & Policy Advocacy

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key government departments and organizations, including SAMR, Commissions of Commerce, Development and Reform, and Industry & IT.

• Identify and engage top stakeholders for policy advocacy and social impact initiatives.

• Support central and regional government engagements (e.g., Yangtze River Delta, GBA) to advance Dyson’s strategic priorities.

Regulatory Intelligence & Policy Monitoring

• Monitor and analyze socio-economic, legislative, and regulatory developments.

• Prepare regular policy papers and insights for leadership to anticipate and respond to market changes.

• Provide strategic advice on regulatory risks and opportunities. Stakeholder Mapping & Engagement Planning

• Develop and maintain a systematic stakeholder engagement map.

• Shape and communicate Dyson’s strategic narrative to government officials and industry groups.

• Amplify Dyson’s agenda on government platforms and pursue recognition through awards and incentives.

Reputation Management & Crisis Response

• Serve as a core member of the Reputation Protection Committee.

• Support the development of integrated approaches to manage reputational risks and ensure business continuity.

• Lead internal insights sharing to align teams on reputational priorities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or related fields.

• 5–8 years of experience in Government Affairs, preferably within MNCs in technology or retail sectors.

• Proven track record in policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement in China.

• Strong understanding of China’s political and regulatory systems.

• Excellent bilingual communication skills (Mandarin and English).

• High emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and crisis management capabilities
