This posting is for an existing vacancy within our organization that we are actively seeking to fill. Senior GIS Analyst

Job Purpose:

The Senior GIS Analyst supports operational teams and business stakeholders by delivering high‑quality geospatial analysis, automation, and visualization to inform decision‑making and solution development. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining geospatial datasets, automating data workflows, ensuring data quality and integrity, and delivering actionable insights through maps, metrics, and reports.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable GIS solutions, with a strong focus on water infrastructure and network visualization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration of Echologics Online GIS system, tools, and cloud-based environment
  • Perform development activities for internal and external tools for data collection, analysis, manipulation, data mining, reporting, and client delivery
  • Construct and manage geospatial datasets, monitor data quality, and troubleshoot database or system issues to ensure data integrity
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows to extract, validate, synthesize, and transform geospatial data from multiple sources
  • Produce maps, dashboards, reports, and spatial analyses that support operational and stakeholder decision‑making
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, define objectives, and deliver effective GIS solutions
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Qualification, and Skills:

Knowledge: Minimum Years of Experience – Systems – Special Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with GIS applications, including application development tools such as VertiGIS Studio Web & Workflow
  • 3+ years of experience working in designing, developing, and maintaining GIS platforms
  • Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise), QGIS, MSSQL databases and other spatial feature mapping technologies

Qualifications: Education – Certification – Courses – Training

  • University degree in computer science, GIS or equivalent education and experience

Skills: Professional and Technical Skills

Must Have

  • Thorough understanding of ESRI ArcGIS suite of products including Desktop (ArcGIS Pro) ArcGIS Enterprise (Server Portal Data Store) and enterprise Geodatabase (SDE)
  • Development experience implementing custom GIS workflows. Experience with VertiGIS Studio Web & Workflow, ESRI ArcGIS products and APIs (ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, Geoprocessing, ArcObjects, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, and Python) is highly desired.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing ArcGIS Desktop/Pro for analysis and spatial data management and map production
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases and SQL programming, such as with Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL

Nice to Have

  • Experience with programming languages (JavaScript, Python) and development environments
  • Experience with data analysis libraries (Pandas/GeoPandas)
  • Spatial data ETL automation experience with Arcpy or equivalent
  • Experience with statistical methods to produce reports and geospatial representations of data

Salary/Pay Range:

$67,779.00 - $93,223.00 CAD

The compensation range above reflects a good-faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment as of the date of posting. Individual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the role, professional experience, job-related skills, achievements, and/or work location. The range listed is only one component of the total compensation package offered to candidates.
