Role Description
As a Senior Frontend-Web Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our software development projects, specializing in building new online banking customer processes using Angular. You will work collaboratively with various teams to develop reusable frontend components for online banking and other applications. Your focus will be on the continuous enhancement of critical online banking business processes, with a strong emphasis on security procedures, payments, and transactions. We are looking for a hands-on expert who can serve as a contact person for all frontend-related topics, providing guidance to junior team members and other colleagues. You will deliver training sessions and promote knowledge transfer within our frontend guild and other forums. Your experience will be crucial in ensuring that solutions are highly scalable and perform flawlessly under very high load scenarios (50,000-100,000+ parallel customer accesses). Your key responsibilities
- Frontend Development Lead: Lead the development of new online banking customer processes and features using Angular, RxJS, and TypeScript, ensuring high quality and adherence to best practices.
- Reusable Component Development: Design, develop, and maintain reusable frontend components for various online banking and internal applications, promoting consistency and efficiency across our digital landscape.
- Critical Business Process Enhancement: Focus on the further development of critical online banking business processes, particularly in the context of security procedures and payments/transactions.
- Technical Expertise & Mentorship: Act as a hands-on expert and go-to person for all frontend-related topics, providing guidance and coaching to junior Frontend Engineers and other team members.
- Knowledge Sharing & Training: Deliver training sessions to other development teams and actively promote efficient knowledge transfer within our frontend guild and other meetings.
- Scalability & Performance Assurance: Utilize your experience and knowledge to ensure that developed solutions are highly scalable and can operate flawlessly under very high load scenarios (more than 50,000-100,000 parallel customer accesses).
- High Visibility Web Application Development: Contribute to the development of a web application that is highly visible to customers and crucial for Deutsche Bank’s reputation.
- Accessibility Compliance: Ensure developed frontend solutions adhere to WCAG 2 AA Compliance (Accessibility) standards.
- Agile Team Collaboration: Work effectively within agile delivery teams, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Your skills and experience
- Several years of professional experience and expert knowledge (also practical) in Single Page Applications with Angular, RxJS, and TypeScript in combination with REST-based APIs.
- Several years of professional experience and expert knowledge (also practical) with responsive design focused around HTML5 and CSS3/SCSS (especially Bootstrap 4+).
- Advanced knowledge and practical experience in Frontend testing using Karma/Jasmine or Jest.
- Knowledge within the framework of WCAG 2 AA Compliance (Accessibility).
- Experience in the NX mono repository toolset is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, strong independence and initiative, and the ability to work in agile delivery teams.
- Experience in technical and methodological coaching of junior UI/UX Engineers and active participation in the continuous development of colleagues.
- A passion for constantly learning and applying new technologies and programming languages in a constantly evolving web environment.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
