The task of a Senior Fluid System Engineer is to oversee the development of complex subsystems of the fluid system, for their initial conception, to series production and operation. This includes the management of requirements, design calculations & simulations, CAD modelling, drawing creating, manufacturing organization, acceptance & qualification test planning, test operations, test evaluation & documentation. You will be actively involved in testing and travelling.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
Fully own complex fluidic subsystems from engineering to timeline
Define and manage the requirements of the fluid system and subcomponents
Perform calculations and simulations of components and systems
Work on iterative development of flight proven hardware
Interface with many other engineering departments to work on shared systems
Provide general engineering support and mentoring for more junior team members
Participate in integrated, stage and flight testing operations
Qualification Checklist
M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Proven engineering excellence, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for rocket propulsion and space
Robust fundamentals and practical experience in fluid dynamics, including modeling and analysis of complex fluidic systems (ideally in the context of rockets)
Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages for engineering applications
Hands-on experience in test preparation, operation, and post-test data analysis and review
Skilled in data analysis and preparation of technical reports
Experience with machining processes, drawing creation, and CAD software (preferably SolidWorks or Siemens NX)
Fluent in English
Bonus Skills
Experience in valve development for rocket engines
Hands-on testing experience with cryogenic fluids and oxygen compatibility
Experience with valve qualification & certification according to regulatory standards
Knowledge about technical drawing rules and material science
Experience with Computation Fluid Dynamics
Experience using ECOSIM
