The Senior Fixed Asset Analyst is responsible for St. Luke’s Health Network’s fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure reporting, financial analysis, and supporting the Fixed Asset Team. The Senior Fixed Asset Analyst may also be involved with various Network wide initiatives as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs and troubleshoots administrative review and approval for all capital projects.  This includes processing project requests, increases, decreases, approvals, and rejections

  • Provides accurate and timely reporting of capital orders, expenditures, and preparation of monthly statements for SLUHN.  This includes preparing and making journal entries for capital labor, accruals, and depreciation

  • Reviews activity in the “Construction in Progress” general ledger account, including reconciliations and timely capitalization of projects

  • Monitors capital expenditures and provides summaries to management for review, including comparison to capital budget

  • Possesses a thorough understanding of the features and functionality of the fixed asset software system utilized to track all fixed assets owned by the network

  • Maintains, enhances, and provides updates to the fixed asset software system

  • Develops and performs employee trainings on the fixed asset software system

  • Maintains the interface between the fixed asset software system and the general ledger for all monthly capital-related journal entries, including accumulated depreciation, depreciation expense, and accruals for each SLUHN entity on a monthly and annual basis

  • Assigns the appropriate classification, useful life, and method of depreciation for all capital expenditures for financial accounting purposes

  • Completes fixed asset roll forward schedules, maintaining accuracy and completeness

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting up to 7 hours per day, 3 hours at a time. Continuously uses fingers and hands for typing, data entry, etc. Uses upper extremities to lift up to 30 pounds. Frequently stoops, bends, and reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation and telephone.

Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision and peripheral vision. Visual monotony when reading reports and reviewing computer screens.

EDUCATION: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred or comparable experience within a related business field.   MBA preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: 

Three to five years financial analysis and/or fixed assets accounting experience required.  Advanced personal computer skills including spreadsheet and report writer software. Proven communication skills required to interact with all levels of hospital management. Experience using the follow

ing software packages highly preferred: Strata Decision, McKesson Financial Management, and SAGE Fixed Assets.  Healthcare experience preferred.
