The Role

As a Senior Business Consultant, you will play a key role in advising financial institutions on the adoption, implementation, and optimisation of Swift services. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, combining expertise in Swift business solutions, strong payments industry knowledge, and data-driven insights to deliver high-value consultancy engagements in payments and related domains.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role focuses primarily on APAC customers while collaborating closely with global colleagues across regions and functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver complex business consultancy engagements for Swift customers, from pre‑sales support through to project execution and closure.
  • Deliver consultancy services around the Swift Scheme, business products such as GPI, our Financial Crime Compliance portfolio as well as our data solutions, helping customers understand business value, functional capabilities, and implementation impacts.
  • Analyse customer data and deliver structured reports and insights that support strategic decision‑making of customers.
  • Deliver dedicated training sessions to educate customers on Swift messaging services and on transformational business initiatives such as ISO20022
  • Act as a trusted customer advisor, engaging with senior stakeholders (business, operations, IT, and compliance).
  • Contribute to solution design, service scoping, and proposal development in collaboration with Business Development, Product, and other Professional Services teams.
  • Support and mentor junior consultants, sharing knowledge and best practices within the consultancy community.
  • Contribute to the evolution of consultancy offerings, methodologies, and knowledge assets.
  • Represent Business Consultancy in internal initiatives, working groups, and cross‑functional projects.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in financial services, consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in financial services, preferably in payments, transaction banking, or financial market infrastructures.
  • Ability to bridge business and technical discussions, translating complex topics into actionable insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in an international, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
  • Ability to travel
