Role Overview:
The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant is a key role within the finance team focusing on ensuring Linnaeus management reporting is accurate, complete and relevant to the business. The role will be an important support to the GL Accounting Manager and to the MVHE Finance Operations team, providing confidence in the Irish financials, helping to shape the future of the Irish finance team and working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders representing 7 clinics in the Republic of Ireland.
Reporting to the Head of Accounting UK & I, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement (50%) in our Birmingham (Solihull) office.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant in the MVHE Finance Operations team, reporting directly to the Head of Accounting UK & I. This role requires collaboration with various internal stakeholders, including market operations, finance teams, clinics and external auditors. The role holder will work across multiple reporting systems, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external standards such as US GAAP and local GAAP. The position demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex accounting processes in a dynamic environment.
Ensure accurate and timely period-end reporting for Ireland, transitioning Outsourced accounting into Oracle and reconciling across all reporting systems.
Deliver periodic and quarterly financials in line with Mars deadlines, ensuring accuracy, variance analysis, and system alignment.
Prepare the data to be uploaded in Oracle on a periodic basis
Own the year-end and statutory audit process, including clean audits and filing of statutory accounts for seven Irish entities.
Ensure tax compliance (VAT and corporate tax) in partnership with advisors, while identifying UK and Ireland tax planning opportunities.
Oversee company secretarial compliance for the Irish legal entities.
Own the balance sheet, ensuring high-quality, timely reconciliations in Blackline and clear reporting of risks and opportunities.
Oversee cash flow and working capital forecasting, aligning assumptions with P&L forecasts, and contribute to annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasts.
Partner with Group Accounting on technical matters and support the Irish management team as required.
Lead the financial integration of Irish entities into Oracle, including entity restructuring and process alignment.
Maintain a robust control environment, promoting continuous improvement and supporting remediation of control gaps within the Mars Internal Controls Excellence framework.

Education & Professional Qualifications:
Academic degree in Accounting, Finance or a similar field
Accounting or Finance qualification is preferred
Experience:
5+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting within large, matrix organizations, Shared Service Centres and/or audit firms
Demonstrable knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and technical skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Able to work under time pressure, with advanced MS Office / Excel skills
Experience working within Oracle ERP and OneStream preferred
