Senior Financial Data Analyst – Corporate FP&A

What you’ll do

The Senior Financial Data Analyst role on the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team is a dynamic and interdisciplinary opportunity focused on preparing consolidated reporting and forecasts for the CFO, Board, and senior leadership team. This position emphasizes automation and effectiveness through advanced data analytics, requiring expertise in analytics, business intelligence, and process automation.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with peers in Corporate FP&A and partners across FP&A and IT to transform processes and enhance insight delivery. They should demonstrate high curiosity, initiative, a strong ability to learn quickly, and technical excellence with tools like Power BI, SQL, KNIME, Azure Synapse, PowerAutomate, and Copilot. The role involves challenging existing practices, championing automation, and reshaping financial data analysis across the organization. Frequent collaboration with data and analytics specialists will be crucial to driving the transition to more automated, self-serve, and data-driven processes.

  • Conduct analysis of financial data to deliver meaningful insights to clients and the FP&A team—including reporting on forecast error and identifying opportunities to improve accuracy

  • Develop datasets and reports that accelerate corporate FP&A analytics and insight delivery, and provide AI-connected self-serve access to key information

  • Collaborate with peers in Finance and IT to set up and configure environments for process automation and orchestration (e.g., Power Automate, Power BI, HFM, etc.)

  • Work closely with the AVP of Corporate FP&A to develop, prioritize, and deliver on a backlog of projects

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Accounting) to assess and unlock new analytics that drive common objectives

  • Serve as an Automation Champion—developing self-serve analytics that drive value-generating activities across our FP&A team and delivering wow & delight in eliminating manual work.

  • Develop a deep understanding of financial systems (such as HFM) and the processes behind forecasting and planning a multi-billion dollar business

  • Achieve expert-level proficiency with analytics, automation, and dashboard tools

What you bring

  • At least 3 years' experience in business, analytics, or finance

  • Master’s degree or Certifications in related field is an asset

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) is an asset

  • Skilled with most or all of the following Power Automate, Copilot, MS Excel (pivot tables, PowerPivot, VBA), PowerBI, KNIME and SQL

  • Experience with Hyperion Planning & HFM and Peoplesoft is an asset

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities

  • Effective communicator with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

  • Works independently or collaboratively in changing environments

  • Quick learner, proactive, and eager to master new technologies

  • Builds strong relationships through excellent interpersonal skills
