The Senior Financial Analyst – Corporate Accounting is responsible for accounting and analysis within Mosaic’s North American, Corporate and certain global businesses, in compliance with US GAAP and SEC Reporting requirements, and financial controls to maintain accurate financial data within Mosaic’s global financial statements. This role will have a focus on the accounting and analysis of Mosaic’s Long-Term Incentive (LTI) and Short-Term Incentive (STI) programs, as well as other compensation-related liabilities including Pension/Post-retirement Medical, Group Insurance, Vacation, Deferred Compensation, Long-term Disability, etc. This role will partner with Mosaic HR and FP&A, as well as third-party actuaries and plan administrators. In addition, they will also be responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting templates, balance sheet flux analysis, cash flow templates, and other internal and external reporting for the North American, Corporate and other businesses. In addition, they will work with internal and external auditors while providing analysis and support in other areas including Revenue, ST and LT Debt, Derivatives, Cash, EMI, etc..
What will you do?
Compensation Accounting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze the accounting of LTI and STI programs for Mosaic’s North American, Corporate and other business units including reporting and financial analysis of stock comp awards, dividend equivalents, quarterly bonus accruals based on performance factors, and quarterly and annual reasonability and sensitivity review of MIP and EIP. Prepare and analyze various other compensation-related liabilities, including but not limited to Group Insurance, Long-term Disability, Pension & Other Post-retirement Benefits, and Vacation.
Partner with Mosaic HR and FP&A, third-party actuaries and plan administrators for the coordination of these accounting activities and analysis.
Reporting and Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting templates, cash flow templates, and other internal and external reporting. Lead the preparation and analysis of the compensation and benefits balance sheet flux.
Audit Process & SOX Compliance: Perform various financial and accounting analysis required to support internal and external audit requests. Coordinate with internal and external auditors on monthly, quarterly and year-end audit requests and related analysis.
Corporate Accounting Support: Deliver analysis and support to Corporate Accounting areas, including Reporting and Operations Accounting. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as well as other management reports as needed. Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Lead or participate in ad-hoc projects as needed.
What do you need for this role?
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or Business with emphasis in Accounting or Finance required
5+ years of finance, accounting, or financial analysis experience OR
2+ years of experience with prior experience at Deloitte, Ernst and Young, KPMG or PwC in similar role (preferred)
Excellent understanding and familiarity with GAAP and the ability to apply these principles in practice
Strong working knowledge of financial and accounting concepts and practices
Broad understanding of internal controls
Public accounting and / or internal audit experience is preferred
Proven project management skills are preferred
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills
Experience/knowledge of SAP preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills
