About the role:

The Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis will support business planning and performance management activities through financial models, forecasts, business and financial analysis, industry research and special projects.  Reporting to the Manager, this position will have experience working in a multi-business unit organization to support the required reporting, analysis and communication. 

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. 

Detail oriented and enjoy being hands-on.  Have proven analytical skills and always understand the “bigger picture”.  Demonstrated effectiveness in building processes, establishing standards and to drive our strategic objectives.

In addition:  

  • Support the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) activities by coordinating across the business and finance teams with multiple business units through the Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly Forecasts, and Business Outlooks (3-5 Year Plans).

  • Maintain and optimize existing Anaplan models to improve performance and scalability.

  • Assist the preparation and completion of monthly and quarterly business review materials, forecast materials and AOP discussion materials for Executive Leadership, Ownership Group and the Board.

  • Leverage business knowledge and expertise in Anaplan to drive process transformation and opportunities for strategic recommendations/value

  • Assist in the functional department reviews with business leaders on Growth targets.

  • Support in the Performance and Efficiency Forum with the aim to ensure profitable growth for the bank.

  • Support the Treasury team with FP&A activities with Treasury team on bank wide funding costs and capital levels for the bank.

  • Support a strong data-driven environment, providing fact-based strategic insight to business partners to identify risks and recommendations to improve future business performance.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field (CFA, CPA designation an asset)

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing and implementing Anaplan solutions, with a proven track record of leading complex projects

  • Proficiency in data integration techniques and tools, preferably experience with Alteryx

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

  • 3+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis; preferably Financial Services industry experience

  • Strong financial modelling capabilities with experience creating robust financial plans, forecasts, and projections

  • Deep understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes

  • Strong business and process acumen, with ability to analyze strategic requirements, create innovative solutions, and develop action plans

  • Experience in developing financial models and dashboards within industry BI Tools (PowerBI, Python, DataBricks) would be an asset

  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Highly collaborative, hands-on approach

What you can expect - pay & process:

  • Expected base salary range is 74,000$ -95,000$ .
