Position Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst – Accounting Policy will perform accounting research and aid in the development of recommendations to stakeholders regarding complex technical accounting issues (e.g., derivatives, consolidations, leases, acquisitions, etc.), new transactions/products, and corporate initiatives in accordance with the Organization’s accounting policies and practices, and authoritative accounting standards. Further, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in monitoring and communicating the status of emerging accounting guidance and its potential impact to the organization. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President - Accounting Policy (“AVP – AP”) and will interact and work directly with Senior Management of the Company, including the Senior Vice President of Financial Reporting & Policy (“SVP – FRP”) and Chief Accounting Officer (“CAO”).
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with AVP – AP to perform research to interpret, and provide subject matter expertise on, complex technical accounting matters and accounting estimates to ensure conformity with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”).
Prepare (and as necessary, develop) analytical and monitoring assessments to ensure compliance with accounting policies, guidelines/procedures, and internal controls on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Document technical accounting analyses and conclusions in the appropriate format for the prevailing situation.
Support the CAO’s Group by helping establish and maintain Company accounting and financial reporting policies.
Communicate directly with AVP – AP, SVP – FRP, and occasionally CAO and Senior Management regarding accounting research performed and conclusions reached. Considers the conclusion’s potential impact to the Company’s businesses.
Participate in special projects as may be assigned by the SVP – FRP and/or CAO related to accounting and financial reporting matters.
Qualifications
3-5 years of related experience.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
Public accounting experience, CPA, or Corporate technical accounting research experience strongly preferred.
Evaluation and analysis of emerging accounting and reporting standards from the FASB, EITF, SEC and other regulators.
Ability to work in a small team environment, building and maintaining a network of contacts and coordinating with a large number of stakeholders.

Compensation
The estimated salary range for this role is $71,000.00 - $92,000.00 along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
