Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Accounting for Corporate Finance, this position will lead various functions within the Ireland Corporate group. An integral part of this role will be the management of Direct employee(s) and a team of contractors providing guidance, support and leadership. This role focuses on producing accurate financial information, maintaining strong internal controls, and working closely with management and key stakeholders including Tax, Treasury, Legal and FP&A. This professional will require effective relationships with other functions in Ireland, Europe and throughout the rest of the world. Keenova Therapeutics is a fast-moving company and responding to the needs of the Keenova Therapeutics group will be an important part of this role.

Job Description

Essential Functions

 

•        Manage the accounting close monthly including but not limited to preparing and reviewing journal entries, period end Balance Sheet and P&L analysis, HFM reports and balance sheet reconciliations

•        Own the month‑end and quarter‑end close processes and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality. Manage local and all group reporting deadlines for designated legal entities

  • Presentation of Financials at y Board meetings for specified legal entities

  • Presentation of LUX GAAP Statutory Financial Statements and Project related financials to Board of Directors for Luxembourg legal entities

  • Provide finance support to the in-house Luxembourg based Board Director

  • Coordinate preparation and review of Statutory Financial Statements for other OUS legal entities including those in Ireland, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands

  • Coordinate statutory audit deliverables for designated OUS legal entities in accordance with statutory deadlines

  • Presentation of required financials, e.g. managements accounts to legal entity Directors for execution of critical transactions e.g. distributions, capital contributions

  • Coordinate with local advisers on providing solutions to complex local GAAP accounting for designated OUS legal entities

  • Coordinate preparation and review of Corporation tax returns for OUS legal entities including Luxembourg, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands

  • Provide finance support to Keenova Therapeutics in-house tax team to ensure ongoing tax compliance for designated legal entities

  • Support Senior Director of Accounting in coordinating and delivering on ad-hoc Projects, for example changes to tax structure

  • Ad-hoc Group reporting as required

  • Support the forecast and budget process for designated OUS legal entities. Work with FP&A to deliver accurate local information

  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement to identify, develop, and implement process changes to increase efficiency, ensure accurate monthly reporting, and streamline accounting processes.

  • Evaluate current accounting processes and related systems to identify and implement improvement and automation

  • Responsible for leading and managing a team of Direct employee(s) and contractors (including finance manager level as required), providing guidance, support and leadershipTake a leading role in maintaining compliance and internal controls framework

  • Management of tax compliance and provision issues as required for designated legal entities

  • Manage VAT filings for designated OUS legal entities.

  • Manage any information requests from tax inspectors and auditors in respect of designated OUS legal entities

  • Manage ongoing relationships with other group functions

  • Manage any change that comes with an ever-changing and growing business

  • Act as a resource and problem solver for operational matters as needed, such as company restructuring and regulatory changes

Minimum Requirements

 

Education / Experience / Skills:

 

  • 8+ years’ experience in a similar role

  • ACCA/ACA qualified

  • Business or Finance degree 

  • Chartered Tax Adviser Qualification (Preferable)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved

  • Ability to manage, coach and develop individuals and lead teams

  • Collaborative

  • Ability to model and create a quality culture

  • Self-motivated and self-managing

  • Able to identify, execute and prioritize work tasks/projects with an awareness of escalation responsibility as needed.

  • Ability to manage projects involving multiple functional groups without direct reporting authority

 

 

Organizational Relationship/Scope 

This position will interact frequently with finance teams across the organization – FP&A, AP, Tax and Accounting. This position will also interact with internal and external legal, tax and accounting consultants engaged by Keenova Therapeutics e.g.  Big 4 firms

 

 

Working Conditions:

 This is an office-based role with minimal travel required apart from attending Quarterly board meetings in Luxembourg.
