Senior Finance Controller (With Dutch)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Controller to take ownership of the financial controllership activities for our two main legal entities in the Netherlands. This is a hybrid position, primarily home‑based with regular presence required in our Rijswijk office.

This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our Dutch statutory and US GAAP financial reporting. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in the Netherlands as well as teams in our Global Shared Service Centres (Poland and India). Strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a multicultural environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full end‑to‑end responsibility for the Netherlands entities’ financial statements under Dutch GAAP and US GAAP.
  • Lead the external audit process and ensure robust accounting controls and compliance.
  • Interpret and implement changes in accounting regulations, adapting internal controls and processes accordingly.
  • Act as the local specialist for complex Dutch accounting matters.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and leadership to local team members and global shared service partners.
  • Oversee and review financial analyses, reconciliations, and reporting packages prepared by the team.
  • Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of the balance sheet, including investigation of complex discrepancies

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience (controllership, audit, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP, if possible certified CPA
  • Knowledge of US GAAP is a strong advantage.
  • Audit experience with a Big Four firm is preferred.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with effective planning and organization.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
