About the role

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will play a key strategic role supporting high-profile hospital departments and driving meaningful financial outcomes. In this position, you will:

  • Partner with clinical and corporate teams to understand their needs, provide strategic financial solutions, and identify opportunities that deliver real impact.

  • Provide expert financial insight, combining accounting knowledge, data analysis, and clear communication to guide performance, shape commercial direction, and support decision-making.

  • Lead financial reviews and evaluations, including investment assessments, ROI analysis, and monthly performance reporting—offering recommendations that drive strategic action.

  • Coach and empower stakeholders and analysts, helping them leverage business processes, reporting tools, and financial systems to improve efficiency and performance.

  • Ensure compliance and strategic alignment, keeping practices up to date with health reforms and funding regulations while supporting the development of high-quality business cases.

About you

You’re a proactive finance leader with strong technical expertise and the confidence to influence decision-making. You will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, commerce, or a related field, along with membership of a professional accounting body (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in management accounting or finance business partnering within a large and complex organisation, ideally using systems such as Oracle and advanced budgeting/reporting tools.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder skills, with proven ability to liaise, negotiate, and build strong relationships at all levels, including Executive.

  • Advanced analytical capability, able to interpret financial data, run statistical analysis, and develop and optimise dashboards and models using Power BI.

  • A strong understanding of the health sector, including public hospital revenue, funding frameworks, and cost drivers.

In this role you will be based at St Vincent’s hospital, Darlinghurst.
