Senior Facilities and ESH Expert

We are looking for a Facilities & EHS professional to lead the technical control, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our facilities and buildings, while ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and ISO management systems.

Main responsibilities:

Lead the maintenance and technical management of facilities while ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Oversee repairs, supervise teams and subcontractors, implement HSE programs and audits, investigate incidents, and promote a strong safety culture focused on risk prevention and continuous improvement.

General Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee scheduled and emergency repairs ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Supervise subcontractors and coordinate with management for quality and teamwork.
  • Lead health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs and audits (ISO14001, ISO45001).
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to improve safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and company safety requirements and documentation.
  • Participate in risk assessments, safety committees, and regulatory inspections.
  • Enforce use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
  • Empower teams, improve processes, and maintain effective communication across departments.
  • Authority to stop unsafe operations to protect employees and the environment.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ management experience in ESH and health & safety.
  • Relevant higher education.
  • Working proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Preferably experienced with ISO management systems (ISO 14001, 45001, TS/16949, 9001).
  •  Audit experience and certification preferred.

Key responsibilities – EHS & ISO Management Systems

  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the EHS management system, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits; support external audits (surveillance and recertification) and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Maintain the legal register and compliance calendar and ensure effective implementation of EHS requirements.
  • Lead incident, near-miss, and occupational accident investigations; ensure documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate risk assessments for existing and new activities, including post‑incident reviews.
  • Partner with the Occupational Health Service and participate in Working Conditions / OHS Committees.
  • Identify EHS training needs and support planning and delivery of training activities.
  • Drive initiatives to strengthen safety culture and continuously improve EHS procedures.
  • Monitor EHS KPIs, report performance, and collaborate cross‑functionally to support operational needs.
  • Support inspections by regulatory authorities and ensure timely closure of findings.

Authority & compliance

  • Authority to stop non‑compliant documents, processes, or activities related to EHS or ISO requirements.
  • Escalate non‑compliance and request support from management and cross‑functional teams as needed.
  • Authority to stop activities in case of immediate risk to people or the environment, in line with company escalation rules.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations and internal procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, documentation, reporting).
  • EHS / Health & Safety experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or coordination role.
  • Hands‑on experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001; ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 are an advantage.
  • Experience with internal and/or external audits; auditor certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to work effectively with internal teams and external contractors.
