This role sits at the intersection of global regulation and strategic decision‑making. As a (Senior) Expert Regulatory Policies, you shape how prudential rules translate into strategy—advising senior leaders and turning complex global frameworks and regulations into clear, practical direction with real impact across an international bank.
The team
Based at the Global Headquarters in Amsterdam, the Regulatory Policies & Oversight team consists of 4 regulatory experts and 2 change specialists led by the Global Head of Regulatory Policies & Oversight. The team consists of a diverse group of experts with different nationalities and backgrounds and is part of the Policies & Procedures department of Group Finance (which, next to the Regulatory Policies & Oversight department, consists of the IFRS policies, ESG Policies and Reporting Control Management departments).
Roles and responsibilities
As a (Senior) Expert Regulatory Policies, you monitor (inter)national developments with regard to prudential legislation and regulation (e.g. Basel, CRR, CRD, BRRD, SRMR, DGS). You interpret and analyse these developments, transpose them into global policies for ING Group and advise ING Group’s Executive Board, Group Finance, Group Treasury and other Business Lines on the application thereof. You will work in a team of experts, who all have their own specialization and collaborate with them on complex topics.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Identifying, monitoring and participating in developments regarding prudential regulations – and reflecting these developments in reporting policies and business advice.
Ensuring consistency of INGs regulatory (reporting) policies and their application
Actively engaging with peers across the financial sector and regulatory bodies to shape discussions and support ING’s position and interests
Acting as a trusted sparring partner for Group and Business Line management on complex regulatory and policy matters
Guiding the change organisation (COO Finance and COO Risk) in implementing the policies into ING processes and systems
