The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The School’s primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise, facilities and teaching. The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school ahead of the 2028 successful conclusion of the NTU-Imperial partnership to set up a Joint Medical School. In August 2024, we welcomed our first intake of the NTU MBBS programme, that has been recently enhanced to include themes like precision medicine and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, with an expanded scope in the medical humanities. Graduates from the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, with an emphasis on technology, data science and the humanities.
The Programme Shared Services (PSS) provides specialized research administration support to Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine’s 8 research programmes and their directors. It sits within the ambit of Research Administration and Support Services Department under the Vice Dean of Research Office. The PSS team supports the multiple research programmes in their large grant applications, contracts management, visiting academics management and events planning. This position is expected to work well and closely with the Grants Management, Contracts Management and Events Management teams to support the Research Programmes and Directors.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, negotiate and execute a range of Contracts, including but not limited to Research Collaboration Agreements, Industry Contracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements and Services Agreements
Provide advice and assistance to research faculty and staff on all agreement issues, including export clauses and declarations
Analyse Agreements and Contracts to identify risks, liabilities or gaps in information and resolve these issues and to seek relevant approvals
Negotiate disputed contractual clauses, working with colleagues within and outside the NTU to bring agreements and contracts to mutually acceptable conclusions.
Provide administrative support for programme events, meetings, workshops, seminars and activities including booking and procurement of AVIT support, venues and catering and publicity of seminar programmes
Work closely with the Programme Directors and the Grants team for large programme grant applications Support the Research Programmes and work closely with the Office of Faculty Affairs to administer Visiting Academics’ programmes and seminars
Support ad-hoc Research Administration and Operation projects
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in any discipline
Minimum 3 of related working experience in preferably academic/research/healthcare industry
Experience in project or research management and working on projects with many different facets preferred
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
Experience in dealing with management and faculty preferred
