Senior Executive, Outreach, Admissions & Scholarships

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) trains and educates professional engineers to solve multi-faceted problems that affect our daily lives and our planet. Our programmes are complemented by state-of-the-art facilities, providing a highly advanced environment for research, development and collaborations with industry and overseas universities. The School offers graduate programmes leading to the award of Master’s Degrees or Doctor of Philosophy. The foremost intention is to provide young graduates and middle-management executives an avenue for higher education, which would provide them with necessary understanding, skills, and tools to form the next generation of executives with fairly broad knowledge.

With increasing focus on graduate studies, it is important to maintain and work on improvements for the graduate programmes. This is aligned to the directions given by the University and at National level. In other words, the senior executive will be contributing greatly to the school’s visibility and advancing goal for academic excellence. He/She is responsible for executing general office administration and processes to support daily operations for CEE graduate programme (by research) matters which includes completing processes timely and accurately, to achieve prompt delivery of administrative and/or operational transactions.


Key Accountability:

  • Manage matters relating to graduate studies to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Drive the CEE graduate programmes (by research). 

  • Implement new/revise NTU policies relating to the programme in CEE.

  • Review current processes and propose improvements for consideration.

  • Manage and involve in student outreach activities

  • Manage and process applications and admission of students for graduate programmes (by research), and other types of research students (Non-graduating/ Exchange/ Joint-PhD/ Joint-Supervision)

  • Manage student candidatures including examination matters and any other matters

  • Prepare budget and statistical reports 

  • Establish non-degree short courses or customized programme

  • Manage the Faculty’s teaching contract and claims involved in the programmes


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A degree holder from a recognized university

  • Knowledge of the academic programme processes and requirements will be added advantage.

  • At least three to five years of relevant administrative experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 

  • Proficient in online communication software (e.g. Teams, Zoom)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and writing skills)

  • Good planning, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Reasonable logical thinking capability

  • Able to work independently and multi-task

  • Meticulous and able to produce good quality outputs

  • High level of situational adaptability in changing circumstances
