As Senior Events Manager at Global, you’ll work with multiple stakeholders to plan & manage complex events & outside broadcasts, from the initial concept to the finished event, bringing Global’s brands to life.

These could be live music events with artists, celebrity appearances, outside broadcasts or DJ activities, whether station funded, ticket funded, bespoke commercial events, marketing partnerships or experiential activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event planning (50%): Office based admin planning for events, requiring excellent written & verbal communication, leading meetings, managing budgets, & compiling event documents.
  • On site at events / site visits (50%): Organising & attending site visits & managing events on the ground, whether in the UK or overseas.

What Success Looks Like

In your first few months, you’ll have:

  • Worked with a number of departments across Global - Programming, Engineering, Commercial, Digital, Legal & H&S to name but a few.
  • Wholly managed your own budgets & event planning documents.
  • Planned & executed several successful events from start to finish, leading fully on your areas, bringing our brands to life.
  • Built excellent relationships with internal stakeholders & suppliers.

What You’ll Need

  • Project Management: As well as organisational skills, you’ll need strong leadership skills, to stay calm under pressure, managing events safely & effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of the broadcasting industry, all of Global’s brands, our current & competitors’ events, plus up to date Legal, insurance & H&S event related policies.
  • Attention to detail: Excellent spelling & grammar as well as literacy & numeracy skills.
  • Multi-tasking: The ability to juggle multiple projects, to prioritise tasks & the ability to pivot when needed.
  • Flexibility & Positivity:  Ability to work on site / away from home, self-motivation, initiative & a real ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills & the ability to communicate both in writing & verbally during the planning process & to lead calmly but with authority at events.
