This position serves as Tournament Director for one of the TOUR’s premier professional golf events. This includes being responsible for the full planning, execution, and operational delivery of the tournament. This role translates strategic direction into a best-in-class event across all dimensions, including broadcast, operations, hospitality, sponsorship activation, player services, safety, and fan experience. This role is accountable for delivering the event to the highest standard, ensuring all components operate in a coordinated, disciplined, and high-performing manner.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in sports, hospitality, large-scale event operations, venue management, or related industries, with demonstrated responsibility for complex, multi-functional operations

  • Proven experience leading the execution of complex, high-profile events with significant operational and revenue components

  • Strong operational leadership with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working with high-profile stakeholders, sponsors, and partners

  • Financial acumen with experience managing event budgets and delivering against revenue-driven objectives

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience navigating public/private partnerships, including engagement with local, regional, or state government entities

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of the tournament, ensuring seamless delivery across all functional areas

  • Translate strategic priorities set into detailed operating plans and execution frameworks

  • Establish and maintain a disciplined planning cadence, ensuring readiness across all phases of the event lifecycle

  • Ensure alignment and integration across operations, hospitality, player services, safety, and on-site experience

  • Execute against the commercial strategy established in partnership with commercial and PGA TOUR Events revenue leadership teams

  • Partner closely with sales teams to operationalize hospitality, sponsorship, and activation programs at the highest level

  • Ensure all revenue-generating elements are delivered with precision, quality, and a premium experience standard

  • Track performance metrics and provide insights to inform ongoing strategy and future growth

  • Serve as the day-to-day operational lead for key stakeholders, including title sponsor/s, governing body, players, media, and partners

  • Ensure flawless execution of all partnership elements, delivering against contractual commitments and experience expectations

  • Maintaining strong executive-level relationships by ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery

  • Engage with local community stakeholders and volunteers to reinforce positive event impact and reputation

  • Develop and manage the tournament operating plan, including timelines, staffing plans, and resource allocation

  • Oversee event budgets ensuring disciplined cost management and execution efficiency

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive volunteer program across all functional areas

  • Implement and manage an effective committee structure, ensuring clear accountability and consistent progress

  • Ensure all safety, security, and compliance protocols are executed to the highest standard

  • Drive excellence in all aspects of the on-site experience, ensuring a cohesive and elevated environment for all constituents

  • Identify opportunities to enhance operations, hospitality, and fan engagement within the strategic direction set by leadership

  • Capture post-event insights and lead continuous improvement efforts to strengthen future delivery

  • Lead and develop a high-performing event team, establishing clear roles, expectations and accountability

  • Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, and execution excellence

  • Provide hands-on leadership throughout the planning cycle and on-site execution

  • Lead special projects, as required
