Bring your deep civil and earthworks expertise to the forefront as a Senior Estimator, leading high-impact estimating strategy and execution across complex, large-scale projects. In this role, you will drive accuracy and innovation —overseeing all aspects of estimating from early-stage conceptual development through to final bid submission.

You will provide leadership in quantity take-offs, advanced cost modelling, and bid strategy across lump sum, unit rate, and cost-plus contracts. As a trusted advisor to operations and senior leadership, you will shape project pursuit strategies, mitigate risk, and identify value-driven opportunities that enhance competitiveness and project outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end estimating process on complex, high-value civil and earthworks projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and strategic alignment
  • Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on bid strategy, risk assessment, pricing methodology, and competitive positioning
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, consultants, and industry partners, providing clear and confident communication at all levels
  • Mentor, coach, and develop estimating team members, building bench strength and promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing, refining, and implementing estimating standards, procedures, and best practices
  • Oversee compliance with Ledcor systems, processes, and governance in all estimating activities
  • Lead comprehensive reviews of drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities
  • Direct and validate detailed quantity take-offs and pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with project execution plans and safety requirements
  • Oversee subcontractor and supplier engagement, including bid solicitation, evaluation, negotiations, and final selection
  • Develop conceptual and parametric estimates using historical data, benchmarking, and market intelligence
  • Present estimates, assumptions, and risk profiles to senior leadership with confidence and clarity
  • Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and project data to inform future bids and strategic decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Estimating, or a related discipline
  • 7–10+ years of progressive estimating experience, with a strong focus on heavy civil and earthworks projects
  • Proven track record leading estimates on complex, large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Advanced knowledge of construction practices, methodologies, and equipment in civil/earthworks environments
  • Deep understanding of contract models (lump sum, unit rate, cost-plus) and associated commercial risks
  • Strong expertise in interpreting construction documents and identifying scope gaps and risk exposures
  • Demonstrated ability to develop project schedules and integrate them into cost planning
  • High proficiency with estimating and project controls tools (e.g., InEight Estimate, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, MS Office)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to think strategically, influence decisions, and drive results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
