The Senior Investment Analyst is accountable for providing accurate, complete and timely detailed investment analyses to assist the Global Healthcare Portfolio Manager to build focused, high-performing and well-structured portfolios.
The experienced analyst independently conducts research studies and provides training and guidance for less seasoned analysts.
Functions must be performed in the context of the unique client-defined investment strategy, and the work contributes to the strategy’s successful performance and the Company’s ability to raise assets. The investment analyses performed include fundamental analysis of individual companies and pertinent therapeutic markets. Additionally, the analyst is expected to interpret market data, trends and economic forecasts.
Responsibilities
Analyze specific companies, interpret market trends and examine specified market sector activity in order to provide information and analysis required in the investment decision-making process. Very experienced analyst who typically has expertise across several industries within the health care sector.
Meet with company management and street analysts to determine the short- and long-term outlook of a company and provide verbal and written reviews of company meeting to other analysts and portfolio managers. Timeliness and accuracy of data produced is critical to investment performance success
Meet with relevant physicians and key opinion leaders to foster an informed opinion of various therapeutic markets and products.
Complete fundamental analysis, including the analysis of income statements and balance sheets to make buy, sell, hold recommendations to contribute towards top investment performance of supported strategies.
Build case and assemble data points to make specific security recommendations to portfolio management team(s).
Construct detailed security analysis models that incorporate investment guidelines and parameters to accurately review relevant security selections.
May have direct responsibility for management of a portion of a mutual fund or client account.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required, typically holds advanced degree (MBA etc) and/or CFA
At least 7-10+ years of relevant equity analysis and business experience in the healthcare sector, plus a high level of internal or external recognition/ prominence
Strong analytic skills to complete detailed fundamental analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver reviews and recommendations. Ability to articulate highly technical information with conviction.
Strong understanding of business and economics in order to research target companies and determine potentially profitable investments
Strong sense of judgment and self-discipline to evaluate multiple opportunities and make appropriate investment decisions.
Very strong network of industry contacts due to tenure in industry.

Salary range is expected to be between

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
